Fraudulent ads for unlicensed platform Oxibet have appeared on Canadian social media, using AI-generated depictions of rapper Drake and the father of Bayern Munich footballer Alphonso Davies. In the video, fake Edmonton police officers supposedly detain Davies’ father after discovering a large amount of cash, before releasing him when it is allegedly revealed that the money was won at an online casino. The characters then encourage viewers to gamble on Oxibet. A representative for Davies confirmed that the footballer and his family have no connection to the operator and did not consent to the use of their likenesses. Read more

The Malta Gaming Authority, together with the Malta Digital Innovation Authority, officially launched the AI Gaming Charter on September 18 — an industry framework outlining principles for the responsible and transparent use of artificial intelligence. The document is voluntary and does not replace the requirements of the EU AI Act, GDPR, or other applicable legislation. Licensees are encouraged to identify all AI systems they use, assess associated risks, ensure human oversight and transparency, and establish internal accountability for the use of these technologies. The Charter covers a broad range of use cases, from player protection and fraud detection to customer services and operational decision-making.
