🇮🇹 Italian regulator AGCOM is introducing mandatory age verification for access to online gambling and adult content through the SPID digital identification system. These measures will be part of an upcoming reform of the iGaming market, which also includes the issuance of new licenses priced at € 7 million for 9 years. The new rules are expected to come into effect by the end of the year, pending approval by the European Commission.

🇫🇷 France raises gambling taxes: for online betting — from 10.6% to 15% GGR, for lotteries — from 8.4% to 9.2% GGR, and for online poker — from 0.2% to 1% GGR.

🇬🇧 In the UK, the gambling sector could face additional tax hikes ranging from £900 million to £3 billion. The proposal was made by the Labour Party and two influential local think tanks. The current tax for online casinos is 21%, with suggestions to raise it to 50% of GGR.

🇦🇷 Buenos Aires follows suit. A group of opposition deputies, led by Juan Manuel Valdés, has proposed to double the tax on online gambling in the Argentine capital from 6% to 12%.
