🇨🇱 Chile allows offshore iGaming operators to register for tax purposes and pay 19% VAT without changing their illegal status

Chile’s tax authority, SII, adopted Resolution No. 69, allowing offshore iGaming operators to register in the tax system and pay 19% VAT on services provided to Chilean users. At the same time, online gambling activity in the country remains unregulated and has previously been recognized by courts as illegal. After registration, operators that have been active during the last 36 tax periods will be required to pay taxes retroactively.
